Cristian Mungiu (b. 1968, Romania) made his directorial debut with the award winning Occident (2002). 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days is his second film, the first Romanian film to win the Palm d’Or at the Cannes film festival. Mungiu will attend the special screening 13th of November 1800h at Vika cinema.

Jon Reiss
Attending 19.-21.11 Reiss started in filmmaking at a San Francisco based alternative video company where he covered much of the West Coast punk explosion. His first film, Cleopatra’s Second Husband, screened at several international film festivals. Jon Reiss’ early credits also include documentaries on the notorious performance group Survival Research Laboratories. His last documentary film was Better Living Through Circuitry, about rave culture. Reiss has directed music videos for artists such as Nine Inch Nails, The Black Crowes, Danzig and Slayer.

Gunnar Knutsen, born 1968 in Ålesund, has studied filmmaking in Canada. He has previously directed several documentary, short films, music videoes and commercials. He runs Tumblewine Films production company in Oslo.

Alex Holdridge
In Search of a Midnight Kiss is Alex Holdridge´s third feature. He has previously directed Wrong Numbers (2001) and Sexless (2003), the only movie to have won both the Jury and Audience Award for best feature film at the SXSW film festival. Holdridge has written the screenplays for all his films. He will be present at the screenings on the 17th and 18th of Nov.

Jason Kohn was born in New York, USA, in 1979. He has previously worked as an assistant to Errol Morris on The Fog of War. At the age of 23 he left his job and moved to Brazil to make Manda Bala, his first feature film. He will attend the OIFF, November 16-18.

Gustavo Gamou (b. 1977, in Uruguay) He moved to Mexico in 2000. He has made several short films, and La Palomilla Salvaje is his first feature film. Gamou will attend all screenings.
